I'm a freelance web developer based in Portugal, working remotely with agencies, studios and direct clients. Over the past 10+ years — in permanent roles as well as freelance — I've shipped a wide range of web projects: marketing sites, content platforms, e-commerce touchpoints and bespoke internal tools.

My focus is full-stack web development with an emphasis on solid fundamentals: semantic HTML, maintainable CSS, pragmatic JavaScript and robust PHP backends. I work with established CMS systems where they fit, and design custom solutions where they don't — always with an eye on performance, security, SEO and long-term maintainability.

Philosophy

Two things decide whether a web project works in the long run: code people can understand — and words people can understand.

Simple code

I write code so others can read it: clear structures, meaningful names, no clever shortcuts. No bloated frameworks where a simple solution will do. The result is projects that stay maintainable — even when someone else takes over later.

Clear communication

With my clients, I don't talk tech, I talk outcomes: what does it cost, what does it deliver, what are the options? Plain statements instead of jargon, firm commitments instead of vague promises. You always know where your project stands — without needing to understand a single line of code.

AI as a tool

Artificial intelligence is part of my daily work — as a tool, not a replacement.

What AI takes over

Research, boilerplate, first drafts, documentation, debugging help: routine work that eats time but needs no judgment. That leaves more room for what actually matters.

What AI doesn't replace

Architecture decisions, responsibility for security and quality, understanding the real problem behind a request — and honest communication. In the end, my name is on it, so I review everything AI delivers.
